Special Education at Ojo Encino Day School

Ojo Encino Day School supports its students with special needs, allowing them to reach their full potential and progress academically at the same rate as their classmates. Within our inclusive learning environment, students are guided over and around every obstacle they encounter. Early identification of a student’s unique needs is the most effective tool that our special education program possesses. Special education teachers collaborate with parents and guardians, as well as classroom teachers, to design Individualized Education Plans as needed.

The IEP is the strategy that our program and teachers use to better support students and meet their specific needs. Parents/guardians who stay involved with the learning process give their children the best chance at success. We value the input, suggestions, and insight of our parents/guardians and teachers as we work together for the student's best interest. Our team provides a wide range of services to address all mental, physical, social and emotional challenges.

Our special education program gives students the personal attention they need to continue advancing. Our program focuses on a child’s diverse abilities, allowing us to follow the education plan that best matches their ability. All IEPs are adaptable, comprehensive, and carefully monitored to document successes and needs for improvement.

Ojo Encino Day School’s close connection to its parents and guardians is the reason for our students’ constant achievement. We encourage all parents/guardians of students in our special education program to monitor their child’s progress closely, just like we do. Parents/guardians should continue sharing valuable insight and assistance beyond the early assessments and education plan creation for optimal student success.
