Ojo Encino Day School

Our commitment to the health and well-being of our students is rooted in the traditional concept of Hózhó, which embraces physical, mental and spiritual wellness. We aim to support student academic success by promoting healthy habits and providing comprehensive health services.

Promoting Healthy Habits

At Ojo Encino Day School, we encourage students and their families to engage in practices that foster overall mind and body fitness. This includes:

  • Eating nutritious food: We provide students with healthy, balanced meals to fuel their bodies and minds.
  • Exercising regularly: Structured physical activities are part of our daily routine to keep students active and fit.
  • Maintaining mental health: We support mental health through various programs and resources, ensuring students are emotionally and psychologically prepared for academic challenges.

Illness and Medical Care

Illness Policy

To ensure the health of our school community, we require students to stay home if they are ill. If a student falls ill during school hours:

  • They will be sent to the front office.
  • Their parent or guardian will be contacted to pick up the student immediately.

Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency:

  • The student will be transported immediately to the local health facility or hospital.
  • Their parent or guardian will be notified promptly.
  • A staff member will stay with the student until the parent or guardian arrives.
