Ojo Encino Day School

At Ojo Encino Day School, we recognize the critical role that parents and guardians play in their children’s education and are committed to fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment. We encourage you to actively participate in your child’s education through our various programs and opportunities.

Parent Advisory Committee

Our school has established a Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) comprised of parents and guardians, school staff and community members. The PAC:

  • Meets regularly: Discuss school programs, policies, and initiatives.
  • Provides input and feedback: Improve the educational experience for all students.

Annual Meetings

We hold annual meetings to inform parents/guardians about:

  • School programs: Learn about the curriculum, special programs and extracurricular activities.
  • School policies and expectations: Understand what is expected of students and how parents can support their child’s education.

These meetings are an excellent opportunity to:

  • Ask questions: Clarify any doubts or concerns.
  • Engage in dialogue: Have meaningful conversations with school staff.

Cultural and Linguistic Diversity

We value the cultural and linguistic diversity of our students and families. To ensure effective communication, we provide:

  • Interpretation services: For parents/guardians with limited English proficiency.
  • Translation services: For important documents and communications.

Family Engagement

We encourage parents/guardians to participate in various school activities, events and workshops. These opportunities are designed to:

  • Promote family engagement: Strengthen the connection between home and school.
  • Support student learning: Equip families with strategies to aid their child’s academic success.

Home-School Partnerships

Building strong home-school partnerships is a priority. We encourage regular communication between parents and teachers through:

  • Parent-teacher conferences: Discuss student progress, set goals and develop strategies for success.
  • Regular communication: Maintain ongoing dialogue to stay informed about your child’s education.

Policy Involvement

Parents and guardians are integral to the development and review of school policies. We seek your input through:

  • Surveys and feedback forms: Share your thoughts and suggestions.
  • Policy review meetings: Discuss the Parent Involvement Policy and other important guidelines.

Resources and Workshops

To support your involvement, we provide various resources and workshops on topics such as:

  • Parenting skills: Learn effective strategies for supporting your child’s growth and development.
  • Academic support: Discover ways to help your child succeed academically.
  • College and career readiness: Prepare your child for future educational and career opportunities.

Support for Students with Disabilities

We are committed to engaging parents and guardians of students with disabilities. Your participation is essential in:

  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate on developing and reviewing your child's IEP.
  • Section 504 Plans: Ensure appropriate accommodations and support for your child’s needs.

We invite you to join us in making Ojo Encino Day School a thriving educational community. For more information or specific inquiries, please contact the school office. Your involvement is vital to your child’s success, and we look forward to partnering with you.
