Announcements

Children and adults sit on a decorated parade float during a Veterans Day event. Several children wear yellow shirts and red hats, one holds a small American flag, and another person wears a military-style camouflage outfit. Patriotic decorations, including U.S. military seals and a “Wounded Warriors” sign, are displayed on the float under a clear blue sky.

Ojo Encino Day School proudly partnered with the Ojo Encino Veterans Organization to host a heartfelt Veterans Day Parade and Assembly, honoring the service and sacrifice of our nation’s heroes. This community event gave students and staff meaningful opportunities to show appreciation and learn from those who have served.

The assembly featured guest speakers from the Department of Veterans Services and a respected community member who shared powerful messages of gratitude, resilience, and leadership. Kindergarten and first-grade students opened the ceremony with the National Anthem and the Pledge of Allegiance in Navajo, beautifully blending cultural pride with respect for veterans.

Throughout the day, students honored veterans and active-duty military members with cheers, kind words, and sincere appreciation. Guests praised the students’ respectful conduct and the strong sense of community on display. It was a proud and memorable day for Ojo Encino!
